At Lenham Primary School, we are proud to deliver the full National Curriculum through an engaging Lenham Primary curriculum.
Beyond this statutory requirement, we believe in enriching our curriculum to ensure every child feels comfortable, safe, and excited to learn. These enhancements are thoughtfully designed to support the wellbeing and development of our pupils, creating a nurturing environment where they can thrive.
We believe these additions make our curriculum truly special and help foster a culture of PRIDE throughout our school.
At Lenham Primary, we work hard to provide a learning environment that supports every child’s growth, wellbeing, and success. Our classrooms and breakout spaces are designed to be flexible, inclusive, and engaging—whether children are reading with an adult, collaborating in small groups, or working independently.
To help meet the diverse needs of our learners, we’ve invested in a range of resources including wobble stools, ear defenders, standing desks, and Chromebooks. In Year 6, we’ve introduced flexible seating, offering a variety of options from soft chairs to computer chairs. This approach empowers pupils to choose where and how they learn best, and our Year 6 children take great pride in their unique classroom setup.
Beyond the classroom, we’re fortunate to have a large outdoor area, including our very own woodland space and pond. This natural environment provides opportunities for exploration, play, and outdoor learning—further enriching the educational experience at Lenham Primary.
We believe that starting the day with physical activity is key to supporting children's wellbeing, focus, and readiness to learn. At Lenham Primary, every morning begins with a fun and energising activity to get our pupils moving.
These daily activities help build healthy habits, boost mood, and create a positive start to the school day for everyone.
At Lenham Primary, we are proud to promote inclusive communication across our school. We regularly use Makaton to support understanding and expression, helping all children feel confident and included.
We are also incredibly fortunate to have Mrs Horlock lead termly assemblies teaching British Sign Language (BSL). These sessions give children the opportunity to upskill and explore a new way of communicating, building empathy, awareness, and a sense of achievement.
Our pupils thoroughly enjoy learning BSL and take pride in developing skills that help make our school a more inclusive and welcoming place for everyone.
We are thrilled to announce an exciting new opportunity for our children. We have teamed up with Harrietsham Primary School to offer Forest School sessions.
Forest School is a child-centred, inspirational learning process that offers children regular opportunities to develop confidence and self-esteem through hands-on learning experiences in a natural environment. It supports development in a wide range of areas, including:
Thanks to our generous outdoor space, lunchtimes at Lenham Primary are full of variety, creativity, and fun. We offer a wide range of activities to suit every interest and need, helping children to enjoy their time with friends.
Children can choose from small world play with toys such as babies, cars, building blocks, Barbies, and colouring materials. Our woodland area is a hub of adventure, featuring den building and a mud kitchen that spark imagination and teamwork.
For those who love to move, we have a trim trail, climbing frame, space hoppers, bubble wands, dressing-up clothes, parachute games, and music to dance to. Sports enthusiasts have access to plenty of space and equipment to enjoy football, basketball, and other games.
Our lunchtime provision is designed to be inclusive, engaging, and fun!
Our Year 6 pupils are proudly taking part in an exciting enterprise initiative in collaboration with the PTA. Through this scheme, the children are actively involved in running the Cabin to sell tea and coffee on a Friday, to help raise money for the PTA.
At Lenham Primary, we value the importance of learning beyond the classroom and actively encourage our children to engage with the local community. Our pupils enjoy a wide range of enriching experiences that help them build a sense of belonging and respect for the world around them.
We regularly visit places of worship, including the local church, to support our RE curriculum and promote understanding of different faiths. Trips to the library and the local art show inspire creativity and a love of reading and the arts. Our children also love performing for the community—whether singing at the local social club or taking part in festive events like Lenham Lights.
